Gorgeous Gardens, Historic Castles, & Stunning Vistas

Explore Victoria’s fascinating past on this private tour with a local guide and learn about the history of Vancouver Island. Victoria, often referred to as the Garden City, is located on the southernmost tip of Vancouver Island and is British Columbia’s capital. It was named after Queen Victoria, with British settlement beginning in 1843.

Victoria is one of the oldest cities in the Pacific Northwest and has retained much of its past by way of beautifully preserved heritage buildings and homes. On this historic tour, experience the famous legislative buildings and the Empress Hotel, both situated along the picturesque Inner Harbour. Explore the oldest town in BC, called James Bay, the fabulous seaside Beacon Hill heritage park, and our intriguing Chinatown, the oldest in Canada, are all part of this walk-and-drive tour. Discover an array of original Victorian homes, including that of artist Emily Carr, as we take you into Rockland, a residential neighbourhood of splendid mansions.

Your private tour of Victoria enables you to enter the grounds of Government House as well as Craigdarroch Castle and to enjoy the gorgeous vistas at Cattle Point, a beach where pioneers once gathered their cattle and which was once home to the Lekwungen people.

Further along, your historical tour takes you to the early 1900s Hatley Castle, located amid giant fir trees and overlooking a bird sanctuary lagoon and the Bay of Esquimalt. One of our favorite stops on this private is part of the Royal Roads University and possesses the oldest Japanese gardens in Canada. Your private tour can be customized to your needs and interests. Please let us know of any special requests when you book your tour.
